This is the apple pie recipe that I make every. single. year.

I will be honest I haven’t tried every apple pie recipe that is out there, but I do have to say I don’t feel like I need to. This salted caramel apple pie from Four and Twenty Blackbirds is my gold standard. A couple notes I have are:

  • Make the pie dough two days before (I actually use Alison Roman’s flaky pie dough recipe)

  • Bake/assemble the pie one day before

  • Day of heat it through, the longer the better! Let it mingle with those flavors, you won’t regret it.
